The connection needed to the propane is a type 1. I recommend the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail - Stainless Overbraid, # 100833-24 with a Type 1 fitting that has an internal back-check and your needed 1/4" male inverted flare. For your application I recommend going with the Double-Eye Spring for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles # e94SR which is a 6-leaf setup with the 26" eye bolt spacing you're needing. This is the only size available in the 6K weight rating and 26" bolt centers so it's really the only way to go.
If you don't think you're U-Bolts are long enough for the extra leaf springs then I recommend checking out the U-Bolt Kit # APUBR-8 which comes with 7" long U-Bolts.
